The StorageTek SLDT 600 also offers write-once, read-many (WORM) capability that allows you to leverage the same drive and cartridge for both WORM and regular data. It is well suited for storing, archiving and backing up large volumes of data in midrange UNIX and Windows NT environments.. The StorageTek SDLT 600 stores up to 300 gigabytes native data on a single cartridge, and is the first SDLT drive with native Fibre Channel connectivity. The use of StorageTek SDLT tape drives for backup and restore increases performance over previous-generation tape drives, shortening backup and recovery times. SDLT tape drives can be used in combination with other drives to match specific backup and restore performance and capacity needs.

The StorageTek SLDT 600 Tape Drive is an integral part of disaster recovery processes that remotely vault data in tape form for recovery in case of disaster. Tapes can be physically transported to a remote site, created electronically with SDLT tape drives in a library at the remote location, or created simultaneously at both local and remote locations. SDLT tape drives are a practical choice for archiving growing volumes of business data. The higher capacity and transfer rates of SDLT tape drives shorten recall times and support aggressive archival growth rates over previous-generation tape drives.
