The StorageTek T9840C Tape Drive has a low dollar per gigabyte media requirement, which will help you to cut you costs. The StorageTek T9840C Tape Drive is a high capacity tape drive that minimizes cartridge mounts and has fewer cartridges to handle for disaster recovery and improve automation efficiency.It has data compression that can store as much as 400-800 gigabytes on a single cartridge. The StorageTek T9840C has a data transfer rate of up to 30 megabytes per second. With StorageTek T9840C tape drives, together with StorageTek Virtual Storage Manager (VSM) system and the StorageTek StreamLineTM SL8500 modular library system, can maximize your archival capacity with efficiency and reliability.

The StorageTek T9840C Tape Drive has native FICO N interface that reduces FICON configuration costs and complexity. It does the work of multiple typical mid-range drives all by itself. This allows for lowered operating costs by reducing the number of units required and simplifies administration time. Fewer drive units also means fewer tape cartridges to maintain.
