Each of the VMAX 40K’s two directors have redundant interfaces to the Quad Virtual Matrix interconnect. Each director consolidates the front end, global memory, and back-end functions.  This optimizes I/O operations as it enables direct memory access to data.  This makes the VMAX 40K ideal for use in hybrid cloud environments.
